Had these comments sent to me as an e-mail, thought some of you might get a kick out of it like I did. Hope you enjoy the spruce up!

This is a “supposed” magazine article from a 1955 “Housekeeping Monthly”, titled “The Good Wife’s Guide”. It has been in circulation by fax and e-mail since the 1980’s. Fabricated or not, I for one am glad none of it sticks with us today. Ladies, you will most likely want to roll your eyes to most of these “guidelines”. I am so glad to be an independant, self sufficient woman in this day and age!

$723.93 per month, net pay for the worker.
Cost of the average Daycare: depending on where you live, it can cost anywhere between $600-$1600 a month. In an article in the Vancouver Sun, Paul Kershaw is even quoted to say that “it costs about $700 per week for full-day child care for a three- to five-year-old across the province on average, with prices in Metro Vancouver closer to $1,000.” YIKES!

The Federal Tax Rates in Canada for 2009. It isn’t quite 50%, but with this new Harmonized Sales Tax coming into play here in the near future, it will sure feel like it’s getting there!
